As Director of Prevention and early help, Steve’s current remit includes a Borough wide responsibility for a range of thematic areas, programmes, partnerships and services relating to children and families. Working as part of the Council’s Senior Leadership team, he supports effective change within Local Government and related sectors. In addition, he is a tutor on the Yorkshire and Humber Senior Leaders Programme for children and adult services and Primary school Governor. A professionally qualified teacher and youth worker, previous roles include Assistant Director in Local Government, Director of Connexions (youth and adult guidance), National Accredited Sector Specialist for children (Centre for Excellence and Outcomes, C4EO) and various University lecturing (youth work, ethics and community research)
