Dr. JaNay Queen’s professional interest and personal expertise focuses on the adaptive challenges of public-private partnership leaders who employ a collaborative approach to affect positive community change. Prior to her current position, Ms. Queen served as the Senior Director for Strategic Implementation at Results Leadership Group for 6 years. There, she worked with public and private sector leaders to implement results-based strategies that enable organizations to achieve their desired goal to measure their community impact and program effectiveness. Facilitating opportunities for leaders to maximize their impact, Dr. Queen works intently to ensure leaders are using data to drive decisions so that their strategies are aligned with results, their actions are driven by desired outcomes and their processes are driven by effective performance. During her time at Results Leadership Group, she supported local and national initiatives designed to improve social, health, economical, and educational conditions for children, youth, families, adults and communities.
While attending life’s classroom, she discovered the joy of developing others in a way that was centered on leadership, relationship building, networking, enlightenment and collaboration. She is a skilled administrator with over 12 years of experience teaching, training, facilitating, consulting and advising in education, public policy, organizational development, leadership and diversity. Though her professional work calls for her to be in the field with practitioners, she remains connected to the classroom where she informs the minds of our future leaders in “Leading to Get Results,” an undergraduate course taught at the University of Maryland, School of Public Policy. In this course, she helps students understand how to be effective leaders in a diverse and ever-evolving world in need of so many solutions.
She is a trained facilitator and certified to administer and interpret the Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator (MBTI). Using these skills, Dr. Queen provides team building and leadership training to business and community leaders seeking to enhance their ability to work together effectively and provide excellent service to clients and community members. Ultimately, through writing, speaking and teaching, Dr. Queen educates, motivates, and inspires current and future leaders to seize opportunities, impact positive change and leave a legacy of excellence and service.
